my father grilling sardines on island silba this summer

my father loves seafood and the island of Silba rarely sees any but they do have sardines flying in every now and then via local fishing boats that sell it as bait for the large tuna they are rasiing for the Japanese near Zadarhere he is patiently sitting by his new electric grill, tending to them and tmaking sure they get nicely toasted! they were delicious!

This meal is for my dog Gigi, a lucky girl!

1 pound ground lamb
1 cup chopped frozen spinach
1 cooked carrot chopped
1/2 cup cooked green beans, cut into small pieces
1/2 cup cooked rice
1 small cooked potato mashed
add stock or water to cover and cook for ten minutes

Just 1.5 hours south east from Rochester, the vista becomes wide open sky and gently rolling hills, not a car in sight…that’s where i spent my afternoon searching for land for a summer house we want to build, closer to NYC and in the middle of nowhere….the nearest town is Georgetown, a crossroad…a spit of dirt road with a backyard flavor of life long forgotten…
