We have a dining room that serves us well but mind you it is hardly ever used, as we prefer to sit in front of the televison and eat sloppily, I hate to say it. It is great for guests and parties but otherwise not too useful. I was thinking of converting it into my design studio but John did not like the idea too much. Amidst great resistance and fear of retribution from him I decided to do it anyway, sneakily while he was at work. I even had a friend come and help me install the IKEA ceiling curtain rods, which took all day , by the way. I also got the drapes from IKEA and cut off the tabs and hemmed the bottom. These were extra long, whick I needed for our 10 foot ceilings.
- the curtains are hanging
- this is how the room looked before
- pumpkin dress in the works
- the design table I concocted is in place too
- I had a difficult time finding a design table so I made one, with two IKEA nightstands and a piece of plywood, which I covered with a thin sheet of wood chip veneer and attached velcro to the bottom to, John thought it looked very cool and thought I should sell it!
